Assembly

The following is the suggested order for assembling your CloverPi

  1. Network switch 
  2. network cable Pi3net1
  3. Raspberry Pi 
  4. Network cable Pi2net1
  5. Raspberry Pi
  6. Raspberry Pi
  7. Network cable Pi4net1
  8. Raspberry Pi 
  9. Network cable Pi1net1
  10. Power
  11. Network uplink

Network Switch Network Switch Board

 Carefully align the switch pins before pressing firmly so that the switch seats in the socket fully. 

 

First network cableNetwork cable connector

The network cables and sockets are not keyed and it is possible to plug them in reversed.  

The one pin on the network connector is marked with a triangle. 

 

 

 

 

 

This triangle indicates the end of the connector that is closest to the edge of the CloverPi Board.  If the cable is plugged in reversed the switch will auto negotiate to 100 full duplex instead of 1000 full duplex.

First Raspberry PiFirst Raspberry Pi

Turn off your Raspberry Pi if it isn’t already. Unplug all cables from your Raspberry Pi. Carefully align the GPIO pins before pressing firmly so that the Raspberry Pi seats in the female socket. Connect network cable to the Raspberry Pi.

 

 

Second network cableSecond Network cable

The second network cable is installed same as the first.

 

 

 

Second Raspberry PiSecond Raspberry Pi

Turn off your Raspberry Pi if it isn’t already. Unplug all cables from your Raspberry Pi. Carefully align the GPIO pins before pressing firmly so that the Raspberry Pi seats in the female socket. Connect network cable to the Raspberry Pi

 

 

 

Third Raspberry Pi

Turn off your Raspberry Pi if it isn’t already. Unplug all cables from your Raspberry Pi. Carefully align the GPIO pins before pressing firmly so that the Raspberry Pi seats in the female socket.

Align socket with pins and seat socket fully.  Connect network cable to the Raspberry Pi.

 

 

 

Forth Raspberry PiFourth Raspberry Pi

Turn off your Raspberry Pi if it isn’t already. Unplug all cables from your Raspberry Pi. Carefully align the GPIO pins before pressing firmly so that the Raspberry Pi seats in the female socket.

 

 

 

Forth Network cableFourth Network cable

Align socket with pins and seat socket fully.  Connect network cable to the Raspberry Pi.

Plug in power supply to Clover Pi CloverPi

Connect the power supply barrel plug to the barrel socket on the CloverPi backplane. 

CAUTION : If the power supply is plugged into the wall first you might get sparks when plugging in the barrel connector, This is caused by in rush current.
